I like to complement the Bossier Parks and Recreation on the condition of Mike Wood Park. It is always clean and walking trail is even. the workers there are very pleasant. Keep up the good work!
Love that this park is close to where we live. The munchkin loves playing here and the dog enjoys walking the "trail". The munchkin even has soccer practices here. Sometimes the closing time is unsure, the sign states at dusk but the guy comes around letting people know he's closing at a certain time but guess what it's earlier than dusk.
This park is huge, clean and has things to do for the whole family. I love the swimming are as well. I usually walk the track while my kids play and my husband plays basketball.
If you're in the South Bossier area & are looking for a nice, small, quiet park to take your kids to play then I would definitely suggest going here. My kids' grandmother lives in Shady Grove, which is where the park is, and I've taken them here several times to play & they both absolutely loved it!!! Plus you can see the airport at the base from the park so sometimes you'll catch a plane either taking off or landing & my kids thought that was the coolest thing getting to see it so up close.
Neat little place. Close to the Air Force Base there's cows out in the field, really fun.
